A well functioning electronic ignition is strongly dependent on whether the trigger surfaces of the pole wheel are exactly aligned with the induction vanes of the pickup on the ignition base plate.
Due to an addition of manufacturer tolerances (e.g. different cone angle, different heights) it can happen that this alignment is no longer given. With it the pickup can be lifted in 0,5mm steps by a total of 1,5mm, the ignition impulse is transmitted cleanly to the CDI again. If the engine does not start, e.g. after a conversion to an electronic ignition, this can be the problem solution.
