Description
ITALKIT Doble Prisma reed block - more surface, more flow = more power & torque
A reed block is a massive flow obstruction in the intake tract. Italkit's 'doble prisma' system significantly improves both the available diaphragm area and the flow. This is primarily achieved by doubling the number of reeds. This also reduces the stroke of each individual reed, which increases the flow velocity within the diaphragm tract. As a result, the engine hangs on the throttle much better with the Doble Prisma than with the stock diaphragm block and is subjectively said to be 'crisper' to drive. Larger diaphragm area plus better flow therefore result in a significant plus over the entire rev range. In peak power this can mean an increase of 1-2hp, depending on the base line of the engine.
A nice side effect is the quite low noise level of the Doble Prisma. By splitting the intake over multiple reeds, the intake noise is usually much lower compared to a conventional reed.
The diaphragms of the Italkit are screwed together with conventional Phillips screws.
Replacing the carbon diaphragms is therefore quick and easy.
