Who would like to keep the original optics can fall back on the base plate offered here:
A modern Silizum bridge rectifier in the old housing of the original selenium rectifier would be
here the perfect solution - see also BGM DIY KIT.
The modern rectifier works much more effectively than a selenium rectifier, usually additionally damaged by obsolescence

CONNECTION
If the assignments / cable colors of the original selenium rectifier are unknown, it is very
helpful to have a wiring diagram of the vehicle at hand (in our online store, these are in
usually stored with the corresponding wiring harnesses for download).
The assignment of the AC input is very simple, there is no possibility to
reverse the polarity. Connect the '+' output of the DC output to the positive pole of the battery.
Connect the '-' output to the vehicle body or the negative terminal of the battery.
NOTE
The rectifier provides the DC current needed to charge the battery. It does not have a
voltage regulator function, i.e. it cannot reduce 12Volts to 6Volts or similar.
It should also only be used with the original self-regulating alternator systems (such as the vehicles listed above
), where the alternator only generates as much power
as is needed by the vehicle. Modern alternators (e.g. type Vespa PX) generate
a very high excess power (at full throttle over 40Volt) which would destroy any battery immediately.
