Description
Specific light coil of VBB1T models (chassis number up to 71000) with battery and selenium rectifier. Compared to the later VBB models it has an additional cable which leads directly to the rectifier.
The coil therefore has 4 connecting cables:
1x white = connection rectifier
2x yellow = luminous flux (both cables are combined to a yellow-black wire)
1x copper wire = ground flag
The light coils on the ignition base plate behind the fan wheel generate a voltage by means of inductive charging (by the rotating magnets in the pole wheel). These coils have a relatively thin wire which is superimposed in many hundreds of winding varnishes. For mutual insulation from each other the wire is enamelled, the so-called enamelled copper wire. If this enamel has become brittle over the decades due to constant heating and cooling, a short circuit can form in the coil. Mostly a weak voltage is induced, which then manifests itself in a very weak light. If the pole wheel and its magnetic field is in perfect condition, a renewal of the coils brings back the full luminosity.
A new coil is quickly soldered in again and can thus repair an ignition base plate that is no longer available. Very nice for all who do not want to convert to a modern ignition.
