We have tried with the help of all available manufacturer information and our years of experience to address the issue of vehicle lighting as error-free as possible,
however, this is unfortunately not 100% possible.
Depending on the availability at the time of vehicle production, the vehicle manufacturers can come to different combinations of the installed components.
Therefore, we must ask you in case of doubt before ordering to check the compatibility based on the product photos and the specified dimensions.
Of course, a return of erroneously ordered items is sufficiently stamped and in mint / saleable condition within the statutory deadlines possible.
Thank you for your understanding.
Some Smallframe Vespa models require a 15 watt taillight bulb instead of the conventional 10 watt. This is a special feature of the (among others) for the German market manufactured models with handlebar end indicators.
On these vehicles, the original alternator has 3 coils and 5 cable outlets. Visually it is therefore hardly distinguishable from the Italian version for models without turn signals because the cable colors are identical. However, the coil assignment is different and exactly here is the reason for the changed wattage of the taillight bulb.
While on Italian vehicles coil 2 is only responsible for the excitation voltage of the ignition, on vehicles with handlebar turn signals a double coil is used here.
A curiosity of this technology is the common ground connection of this coil (yellow and blue cable).
If the brake light bulb is defective or missing, the engine cannot be started because the excitation coil has no ground connection. So if the engine goes out during braking, just check the brake light bulb. If the bulb burns out often, please check if it has more than 10Watt. If so, it should be replaced with the 15 watt version offered here.
For models with taillights that have a soffit socket, we also offer the lamp in soffit form (246510125).
TIP: Vehicles with self-regulating electrics (almost all contact-controlled ignitions) always require exactly the factory-specified bulbs/consumers for the proper functioning of the lighting. If lamps with a different load (e.g. 12V instead of 6V or 5 watts instead of 10 watts) are used, this can lead to all bulbs constantly burning out. This means that the load of the consumer regulates the on-board voltage. The correct bulbs are almost always listed with the wiring diagram belonging to the vehicle, along with the voltage / wattage. A retrofit with a voltage regulator is, by the different coils for the individual consumers, usually not possible.
