We have received a limited number of original SIEM headlights from Italy, produced in the 1960s and 1970s, from a warehouse clearance. Originally designed in the distinctive trapezoidal shape for the Vespa three-wheelers APE AD1, AE, and AP, they are also suitable for the Vespa 125-180cc Largeframe models listed above. The glass lens featuring the classic SIEM logo clearly demonstrates the quality difference compared to cheap replicas. A must-have for any serious restoration project. Another great feature is the sturdy spring steel clips that secure the headlight connector. These clips on the original headlights are significantly higher in quality and less flexible than those found in newly manufactured versions.

This headlight is equipped with a Bilux dual-filament bulb (BA25S with 25/25 watts).
Since this headlight was originally manufactured for the APE, it requires a different headlight connector than the Sprint/GT/SS models.
The headlight connector from models with a round headlight (e.g., Sprint 150 Veloce) can be used instead. The only adjustment needed is to remove the socket for the parking light.
To do this, simply cut through the small retaining bracket at its thinnest point (bend area).

The reflector may be dusty due to long storage; it should be cleaned by gently rinsing with a mild cleaning solution (clear water + dish soap). Never wipe or scrub the reflector. The reflective coating is vapor-deposited and will be damaged by mechanical cleaning (as with any classic headlight).

Contents and Mounting
The package includes the reflector, glass, and the galvanized frame connecting both parts. A suitable bulb can be found under accessories. This type of headlight is mounted in the headlight trim ring using a small wire clip attached to the reflector. The trim ring itself (not included) is fixed from below the headset with two small countersunk screws, each supported by a steel washer. These can also be found in the accessories section.
