The BGM PRO 4-piston brake caliper increases the effective piston and pad area of the front brake system, enabling motorcycle-level braking performance. With 4x25mm brake pistons, the BGM PRO caliper has 40% more piston area than a conventional two-piston caliper on Vespa PX/LML Star models.
The hydraulic transmission ratio is greatly improved and the braking force (with the same lever force) is increased. Another advantage of the 4-piston technology is the symmetrical loading of the pads, whereby these are always fully on the brake disc. A pad change is done by a stud quickly and easily. A great advantage, not only in racing.
Brake caliper mount BGM PRO 'TOURING RADIAL'
For optimum braking performance, the matching brake caliper mount BGM PRO 'Touring Radial' was developed.
A special feature is its uncompromising design for the greatest possible deceleration. For this purpose, the caliper was oriented so that the brake pads are applied to the maximum outer diameter of the brake disc. Unlike other adapters, the BGM PRO caliper mount thus has the largest effective lever and thus also the best deceleration values.
MAXIMUM SAFETY
Improving driving safety was the dominant element in the development phase of the BGM PRO brake caliper mount. Thus, the possibility of lateral centering of the caliper to the brake disc was created. The BGM PRO set can be precisely centered to the brake disc. This is done with the help of the enclosed disc set. Compared to other suppliers, this ensures that the brake pistons, even with heavy wear of the pads / disc, always sufficient guide length in the caliper is available.
MAXIMUM COMPATIBILITY
The BGM PRO brake caliper set replaces the original Piaggio components 1:1. BGM uses the usual hole pattern of 82mm, it can therefore also use calipers from other manufacturers (eg Stage6 (only old type, not MK2), RPM or Adelin). However, the BGM PRO caliper builds particularly narrow and is the only one that can be adjusted exactly centered to the brake disc.
MAXIMUM QUALITY
The BGM PRO caliper adapter is made of high-strength aluminum which is CNC machined in a specialized facility in Italy and finally hard anodized. This allows it to withstand the harshest environmental conditions and remain permanently solid and visually appealing. The mount is delivered ready to install, equipped with already mounted high quality needle bearings from European suppliers (SKF/INA).

VESPA OR LML?
The caliper mount is available for Vespa or LML. The difference between both types is the different dimensions of the speedometer drive. Therefore, the selection of the correct adapter depends on the existing/used brake drum (Piaggio or LML).
Examples:
A Vespa PX (year 1985) which has been retrofitted with a Grimeca disc brake kit needs the adapter type PX.
A Vespa PX (1985) that has been retrofitted with an LML fork for disc brakes requires the adapter type LML.
A Vespa PX Disc (year 1998) needs the adapter type Vespa PX.
