Description
The Athena sealing set has gaskets made of aluminium sheet which is thinly coated with a rubber layer.
The set includes all the flat gaskets necessary for sealing.
In addition, the set also includes the O-rings and the felt ring for the intake manifold.
The following gaskets are made of coated aluminium:
Engine housing gasket
Clutch cover gasket
Intake port gasket
Brake anchor plate gasket
This eliminates the need for any sealant. If an engine case still drips, it is usually strained or crooked. A warped housing is caused by unevenly tightened housing bolts. It is ideal to tighten the housing halves evenly (crosswise) with a torque wrench. Maximum value is here according to Piaggio - specification 6-8NM.
