Hardened to an average of 60 HRC, Benelli parts offer just the perfect balance of sufficient hardness and necessary elasticity to withstand the enormous stresses in a racing engine over the long term.

Benelli is a stalwart of the vespar racing scene. Its parts are always based on the needs that crystallize in hard racing. The Benelli solutions therefore always come from practice and were also extensively tested there in advance. The main shaft he designed is significantly reinforced but still compatible with conventional Vespa transmission parts.
The diameter of the shaft was massively increased (Ø30mm) and resists even the most violent torque attacks of modern setups.

In contrast to the Crimaz mainshaft, large primary wheels (>105mm, e.g. BGM 62/63Z) can still be used with the Benelli. Likewise, the Benelli mainshaft has the typical Lusso detent for the shifting cross, which is missing on the Crimaz.


To maximize the maximum transmittable torque, the Benelli mainshaft is longer in the area of the teeth for the brake drum. Therefore, it should be checked during assembly whether the main shaft has sufficient clearance in the teeth of the brake drum. If not, use an additional washer to ensure a secure frictional connection via the tightening torque of the central nut.
