The cylinder can be used with either a 57 mm or 60 mm long-stroke crankshaft thanks to the included spacers. Using a long-stroke crankshaft slightly increases the port timing, which not only results in more displacement but also noticeably more power.
With its mild port timing (118°/176°), the Ranger is perfectly matched for box exhaust systems, such as the Polini Box or the BGM Touring Box 2.
Thoughtful Exhaust Design for Maximum Performance
The VMC Ranger features a specially shaped exhaust port with a convex bulge in the upper section. This design has been optimized through extensive testing to ensure an ideal torque curve and powerful acceleration.
VMC explicitly advises against modifying the exhaust port, as it may negatively affect the optimal power delivery.
High-Quality Cylinder Head for Superior Cooling
The cylinder head is equipped with radial cooling fins, similar to the Quattrini M232/M244. The 8-bolt mounting ensures a perfect seal, while a high-quality Viton O-ring securely seals the combustion chamber.
