Highest performance cast iron cylinder with 135ccm for Vespa Smallframe


VMC offers different cylinders for the Vespa Smallframe models. The main distinguishing feature is the cylinder base material used.
The GS 58 shown here is with 135ccm the big brother of the GS 55 (125ccm) and is made in grey cast iron.
This makes it inexpensive, but it still has a powerful cylinder layout.

  • Bore: Ø58mm

  • Stroke: 51mm (series)

  • Connecting rod length: 97mm (series)

  • Piston: cast aluminum

  • Piston rings: 2pcs, 1mm thickness

  • Cylinder head: Aluminum die casting

  • 8-bolt cylinder head

The generous channel surfaces do not require long timing angles for its high power capability. With 124°/174° and the resulting 25° advance intake angle, the cylinder is still very tamely tuned and perfect for plug&play installation.

  • Control angle: 124°/174°

  • Recommended pinch point: 1.2mm

  • Tightening torque cylinder head bolts M6: 11-12Nm

  • Tightening torque cylinder head nuts M7: 14-15Nm

The overflow openings in the cylinder base are very large which is why the cylinder will not fit on a stock engine case without modification (the so called half moon of the fan channel at the 12 o'clock position has to be removed).
