Description

Crankshaft CC CORSA (made by Falc Racing) for cylinder CC175
Vespa Wideframe 1952-1959, VM, VN, ACMA, VB1T, VGL1T, VL1T

Gabriele Cagni, founder of CC Corsa from Emilia Romagna in Italy, puts wideframe tuning on a new footing. His 175cc aluminum cylinder developed by Falc Racing now heralds a whole new era in the wideframe sector. Rear wheel power of more than 20hp can be easily realized and lifts the driving performance to a very modern level. Gabriele has developed an overall concept, consisting of cylinder, exhaust and crankshaft, so that the high performance can be called permanently and safely.

  • Stroke: 60mm

  • Connecting rod length: 110mm

  • Connecting rod: Primatist

  • Oil seals: 22x40x7mm

SUCCESSFUL THROUGH QUALITY
Our customers have driven with the CC Corsa kits (160cc and 175cc) already several times without problems over 10000km successfully as well as with much joy. Very successful participations including podium places (e.g. at the Rally of the 3 Massifs with more than 1000km in four days) impressively prove the performance as well as the longevity of the conception of CC Corsa.

The latter in particular is largely due to the very high-quality crankshaft, also from Falc Racing Italy.

The Achilles heel of the wideframe engines, the relatively delicately dimensioned crankshaft, is countered by Falc with very high-quality material and first-class workmanship. The slim crankshaft cheeks don't offer much material from the factory to ensure a high interference fit at the crankpin (for maximum torsional rigidity of the crank cheeks relative to each other). If you skimp on material quality here, you can't make up for it at any other point.

For this reason, the CC Corsa shaft is also at a relatively high price level. Falc uses only the very best basic material and thus creates a very stable shaft that more than pays for itself in the aftermath.

TECHNICAL DATA
The crankshaft has, suitable for the 175cc CC Corsa cylinder kit, a stroke of 60mm and a connecting rod length of 110mm. The longer stroke allows to increase the displacement and the longer connecting rod relieves the pressure side of the piston due to the better connecting rod ratio. By the way, the engine also runs smoother. By using the relatively light piston from Malossi in the 175cc kit, no additional heavy metal balancing plugs are needed on the shaft. This is an advantage over the heavy Polini/Rotax piston from the 160cc kit.

The crankshaft is equipped with a high-quality Primatistpleuel which is more than up to the power range of the kits. Included in the kit are special oil seals. These are not held in a sheet metal jacket but pressed directly into the bore of the engine housing. This has the advantage that the crankshaft bearings do not receive too high a preload (due to the excessive thickness of the conventional oil seals).

This is an extremely common defect, which is why BGM has been offering special crankshaft bearings with reduced shoulder width for some time. In addition, the crankshaft is supplied with high-strength nuts for the clutch and alternator side along with a disc spring (half moon).

The crankshaft can of course also be used for other engine concepts as long as they can cope with the corresponding stroke/spline length.

SUMMARY: Outstanding crankshaft from CC Corsa, manufactured by one of the most renowned Italian tuning forges for Vespa.
