Cover frame tunnel / cable shaft in the frame -OEM QUALITY- Vespa Largeframe PX80-200/T5
The self-supporting frame of the classic manual Vespa models has always been used to accommodate the wiring harness and Bowden cables. Likewise, the engine draws in fresh air through the hollow interior of the frame. So that the frame does not act as a resonance body in the process, the front frame area is separated by this plastic part. This considerably reduces intake noise, especially if the engine has been converted to diaphragm operation. To further reduce intake noise, the frame hole in the area under the seat, where the fresh air is drawn in, can be extended inward with a tube. This additionally breaks the sound without sacrificing engine performance.
NOTE: The cover should always be installed. Otherwise, the engine may not accept throttle properly after full load periods. If the engine chokes despite meticulous tuning work on the carburetor, it is very often due to the lack of this simple plastic part. A simple test is to close the frame tunnel behind the fork (under the cascade) with a cloth flap. This can save you the trouble of removing the fuel tank.
