If an old 2-channel rotary valve engine from VNB, VBB or early VNC (Super 125) is to be made fast, the original reduction ratio with a large 177cc cylinder is clearly too short. With a modern cylinder, even such an engine can easily be given more than 15 reliable horsepower. However, the almost threefold power must then be transferred to the road accordingly. The longer gear ratio converts the engine's significantly higher torque into superior propulsion and ensures a long and healthy engine life. The environment also benefits as the engine speed is lower. This is where this great conversion kit comes in.

CLUTCH
It has a very solid clutch, which was designed for outputs well above 30 hp and is therefore rightly called the supreme solution. The BGM Superstrong clutch is characterized by a very accurate separation behavior, easy operation and a powerful grip. Here in the latest superlube version, which makes the clutch extremely durable.

The BGM PRO clutch cover accommodates the larger clutch and thus ensures easy installation without milling or modification. Despite the increased height, there is always more than enough space for the tire. The whole thing is rounded off by the extended primary reduction ratio (usually just called primary). This extends the entire gear reduction, i.e. all gears from one to four.

23/63 = 2.74 => 11% longer than standard
24/63 = 2.62 => 16% longer than standard
25/63 = 2.52 => 21% longer than series
The shortest reduction ratio of the three variants shown here is 23/63 (i=2.74). This means that the engine is 11% longer, which is almost exactly the same as an original PX200, both in terms of gear steps and overall gear ratio. This is often taken as a reference as it achieves around 100 km/h with 12 hp engine power.
A conventional tuning setup usually consists of a 177cc cylinder, a crankshaft with a larger intake angle and a matching box exhaust. These components usually even exceed the 12 hp mark and, with the 23/63 gear ratio, enable a speed of at least 100 km/h. In most cases, this value is already significantly exceeded. In most cases, this value is already significantly exceeded as the 177cc cylinders are more rev-happy than an original PX200.
If the engine is professionally overhauled (intake window of the rotary valve, SI24 carburettor of the PX200, crankshaft with more stroke and a powerful cylinder and exhaust, the set with 24/63 or even 25/63 can also be selected without any problems.
The straight-toothed pinions are very precisely manufactured and are virtually inaudible when the engine is running. They run very smoothly and do not 'sing'.
PRIMARY REPAIR SET
The primary reduction is always dismantled during an engine overhaul as the springs of the shock absorber are a wearing part and are therefore replaced as soon as the engine is open. Our set simplifies the overhaul as all the necessary parts are already included in the package. This also includes reinforced springs and new cover plates including matching rivets.
CONCLUSION
Very high quality upgrade set to extend the gear ratio of the engine to suit a 177cc (or more) tuning. Solid, durable and perfect function make the set an ideal component for a good and reliable engine. Here in a set with a big price advantage over the individual components!
