New central spring from POLINI for Vespa Smallframe V50, PV, ET3, PK

Polini offers a new type of flat wire shaft spring for the conventional 1-spring clutch types of the V50, PV, ET3, PK S and PK XL models.
These offer many advantages over the conventional coil springs previously used by Polini:

ADVANTAGES WAVE SPRING

  • ALWAYS STRAIGHT

    The wave spring remains dimensionally stable under load and does not tilt to one side. This means that the clutch discs always run straight, which favours a clean separation of the pads.

  • EASIER TO PULL

    In addition, the spring characteristic curve is much flatter than with a coil spring. To put it simply, operating the clutch with such a spring is much more comfortable (with the same contact pressure of the pads).

  • SUFFICIENT IDLE TRAVEL

    In addition, it requires, in direct comparison, significantly less overall height, which virtually eliminates the risk of the spring going 'on block'.

This makes it ideal for use in a smallframe clutch and modernises the central spring principle as Piaggio once used it from the factory. The spring is designed for a contact pressure of 80kg.

The spring can be used in original 3-disc clutches as well as in Polini 4-disc clutches. Polini recommends the spring for both standard and Polini 133cc cast cylinder engines.
